NYC Musical Time Interface

This project was designed to go on LinkNYC-esque devices around New York City to display time in some way. I am always using music to judge how much time has passed so I thought it would be a fun idea to see how far someone could reasonably travel within the time of any given piece of music.

This interface would allow users to add songs and albums through a rotating music selector at the bottom of the screen. This selector had to be at the bottom because LinkNYC units are quite tall and already significantly off the ground. The interface looks at the length of the chosen song or album and places a circle with the radius corresponding to how far someone could walk at the average walking speed of 3.5mph (5.6 kph) from where they are currently standing. Users would also be able to add multiple pieces of music to the map which would layer on top of each other with the piece of music currently selected at the bottom showing in full opacity while the others are less visible.
